Kaiya Kuriba and Jari Tanner are two brought together by tragedy

Kaiya was born into one of the 4 Royal families on a large island named "Tama-auleilei" for centuries, their kingdom was at war with a race of people called "Runiens" that built their economy on strange technology that ran with the power of mystical metal called "rune ore" at the time. Runiens were born with this metal in their blood stream, which allowed them to perform special unique abilities other races could not, and therefor they were feared, and that fear led to the eventual destruction of their entire empire. Kaiyas father "Kale" was one of the few Runiens left in the world, and could hide his identity with his ability to change his appearance.
by doing this, he was able to blend into societies that would normally shun him. Eventually meeting with Kaiyas mother "Cheryl" , the current princess at the time. they bonded over their similar distaste for the prejudice views people had over history and sharing eachothers sadness over their lack of freedom.
soon marrying and giving birth to Kaiya. 3 years pass, and a soldier learns of Kales true race and reports it to the kingdom. Quickly captured, Cheryl races to his aid but he is executed shortly after she arrives with one last smile to her. Enraged at her mother (the queen) Cheryl is fedup with her life as a princess in a prejudice kingdom and abandons everything in the shadows of night, her future crown, and her son, unaware she was already pregnant with another.
2 years later, the queen was stricken with illness likely due to grief, and passed away, leaving the kingdom to kaiya alone, being the last of the royal line

After settling down and wondering where to go with her life from there, Cheryl gives birth to a daughter she names Laiya, and begins to devote herself to taking care of her the way she couldn't her son, too afraid to return to the world she once lived in. As Laiya grew she made several great friends, one of them being Jari herself. At the age of 13, a powerful demon after something Laiya was born with, destroyed their home town in search of it, and Laiyas friends parents sacrificed themselves to let their children get away in the evacuation, Laiyas mothers whereabouts also unknown after getting trapped in their burning house. Her kingdoms most loyal knight got to Laiya in time, and Cheryl told him to keep her safe before the building collapsed. Laiya and the rest of her friends were taken in by the kingdom back on Tama-auleilei, and Kaiya was united with the sister he never knew, however Jari was evacuated by a different party, and her whereabouts where unknown
Kaiya having been abandoned, had a strong distrust of people, only made worse knowing his mother had been away raising his sister, and not remembering what the love of a parent felt like, facing pitiful stares and treatment from the rest of the kingdoms residents, leaving him cold and jaded

on another side of the island Jari had been taken in by the kingdom on the east coast, a large land mostly made of desert, where she also had a brother unknown to her that was living alongside the young princess there.
During a trip to the east coast to uncover secrets about the "crests" that were the reason behind the attack on Laiyas home, they run into Jari, alone and in trouble: being attacked by a large dragon like bird, Kaiya instinctively saves her, and from there on, she would be the support and foundation of his recovery to trusting people again

Character information

Kaiya Kuriba: Occupation: prince, swordsmen, and trainer of new soldiers for the kingdom
In his later teen years, thanks to Jari's kindness and concern, Kaiya becomes very chivalrous and kindhearted towards women and very protective of Laiya and her friends for their continued love and even helping restore the broken relationship between him and his mother. however due to the lack of interaction with men in his life, (most of his kingdoms residents being maids, and all of Laiyas friends being girls) Kaiya often gets into quick arguments with other men. Mainly Jari's brother "Tono"
Jari being unnaturally stronger than Kaiya is usually the interference in these fights from escalating, making him behave with force first and gentleness later

Jari Tanner: Occupation: writer, archer

Ever since Jari was a child, she had dreamed of living in a big kingdom and marrying a prince, however even though she was lucky enough to get her wish, the tragedy of her life kept her down to earth and gave her the humility she felt she would've lacked had it not occurred. fairytale romance has always been Jari's favorite thing as a child, and reaching adulthood she became interested even more interested in fantasy books and developed a secret interest in erotic novels that led to her wanting to become a writer herself, and possibly publish books of her own, based on her own lifes events. in some ways believing it'll give her the best closure of whats happened

After all hardships, Kaiya and Jari can no longer imagine life without eachother, and will continue to support and protect one another. :iconcuteheartplz:

A very nice picture here. Done really well with the poses catching them in mid-dance, gives a feel of them being caught up in the moment. The outfits look really well done with the uniform and dress matching them really quite nicely. The bodies are well done and the poses match up well, the background offer a nice touch of romance, adding to it all. The stories and backgrounds offer a nice bit to it as well, giving good insight into the characters and who they are. A really good bit of work here.
